The Presidents’ Award for Lifetime Achievement recognizes the significant achievement of an information professional and Minnesota Chapter member over the course of a career.

This April 26, 2017 we will be honoring the 2016 recipients of the Presidents’ Award for Lifetime Achievement, Peter Sidney and Margaret Drews. Come network with other information professionals, see old friends and make some new ones.

Judging Criteria

  • Long-standing active member
  • A member dedicated to SLA, the chapter, and furthering the profession
  • One who demonstrates leadership, excellence and service
  • Someone who has accomplished notable innovations in the workplace
  • A mentor who has encouraged others in the profession
  • One whose activities bring recognition and acclaim to the chapter

Peter served as Minnesota Chapter President from 1993-1994. Margaret served as President from 1983-1984. Both Peter and Margaret made Cargill facilities available for many Chapter functions over the years and have provided general support and encouragement to the Chapter and individual members on various projects.

The Minnesota Chapter of the Special Libraries Association (SLA) was founded in 1943 to share expertise and interests and to build a community to support the special librarians of Minnesota and the surrounding area. The chapter exists to provide these same opportunities and services to our members & partners.
